Nintendo Tea Time Study

6x8in. oil on canvas panel - available soon

I loved working on this painting. It surprised me how popular it was at my craft fairs - I'll have to definitely make prints of this paining. This painting is a study for a larger painting I plan on working on later in the year. Currently I am a little hush-hush about the final piece, but it'll be so cool! Funny story, I actually dropped this painting face down on my carpet, my first-ever transportation blunder. Did you know that Kirby is my favorite Nintendo character? Poochy is a close second!

Stickers and Prints Galore!

A quick post to announce that I'm finally selling stickers and prints on my website! Stickers here and prints here, in both singles and bundles.

Spring Craft Fairs

This spring I started to attend my first-ever craft fairs as a vendor. The above photo is from my first craft fair in Bellevue, where I learned a lot and networked all day. It was a fantastic learning experience and I was able to determine how I'd like to start turning my booth into.

Poppies in the Mountains

5x4in. oil on canvas panel - not available

This spring I started to vend at craft fairs and my first-ever craft fair required a raffle item from each vendor. Since I am an artist, I figured a small painting would be perfect. Not exactly knowing what to paint, I turned to my resources. Indeed, this painting is composed from no single reference photo, instead, multiple references Frankensteined together to make my finished piece. The mountains in the background were inspired by Bob Ross' glorious mountainscapes, the midground a Patreon tutorial by Paint Coach focusing on atmospheric perspective and the foreground a photo from the Cascades National Park. I especially like how the poppies pop against the green grass, and how the grass reflects in the river. Practicing working on my own compositions is difficult but it rendered great results.

Warmth

6.5x6.5in. oil on cradled wood panel - available soon

I am pleased to announce that this painting is finished. I went through a lot while making this painting, including a lot of wiping off progress. I think that's why it took me so long to finish it, it was so intimidating and it often won against my attempts. While working on this painting, I learned a lot and made myself proud - hard work often rewards a good feeling. Other than my Batman painting I don't think I spent this long on a painting before - in fact, it took me months to complete. I took this reference photo when my fiancĂ© and I came home from our trip where we got engaged and I remember the clouds looking so warm and inviting, almost like "renaissance painting" clouds. Many more cloudscapes are in my future for sure.
