I had a fantastic and productive year. In total, I completed 26 paintings with 21 paintings being available for my first-ever shop launch on January 6th at 4:00 pm, which is SIX!!! days away! I've never done something like this, and leading up to this point in my life I didn't really think something of this scale could be possible, but with the assistance of perseverance, people who love me in my life and a fantastic therapist I am achieving some big goals and dreams.
I painted my biggest-ever oil painting - which is The Batman shown above - started both plein air painting and still life painting and even got into 4 craft fairs for the upcoming year! I have a lot of bigger paintings planned for the upcoming year and I plan on getting a lot of academic skill development in my regular rotation. One project I'm planning on immediately beginning in January after my shop launch (and taking a week off to recover!) is The Artist's Way, a book by Julie Cameron that is a 12-week program where you reinvigorate your love for your artwork and learn to be more confident, less burned out and hopefully more optimistic and put-together as you go on in your artistic journey. I've been wanting to start this project for a long time now and I thought that the best time would be for when I'm wanting to really dive into developing my artistic skills. I plan on taking more online and in-person courses including ones around painting vibrancy, life drawing and sunset clouds.
In a more personal update, my fiancé and I became engaged this year in March when we took a trip to Estes Park, Colorado. I am ecstatic to see where our lives will take us together. I started seeing a therapist again and it's been incredibly helpful for me in my every day life.
Here's to a fantastic and hope-filled New Year! May your new year bring you peace, love and happiness.
